Abstract

Receivers.-A loud-speaker is connected to the plate circuit of a valve by a filter circuit of the choke-capacity type, and the steady plate current is passed through auxiliary coils which assist in magnetizing the loud-speaker magnet. As shown in Fig. 1, the coils a carry the steady plate current, and increase the flux of the permanent magnet b, the audio-frequency current passing through condenser f to the usual telephone coils c. In Fig. 2, the audio-frequency currents pass through the moving-coil c<1> of the loud-speaker, whilst the steady current passes through a coil g, and assists the main field coil j in maintaining the magnetic flux.
