Abstract
261,415. British Thomson-Houston Co., Ltd., (Assignees of Barton, F. C.). Nov. 14, 1925, [Convention date]. Magnetic instruments. - In a. loud-speaking telephone combined with a thermionic amplifier, adapted for operation by alternating current drawn from the house mains, the telephone magnet has two windings, one of which is in series with and the other in shunt to the valve. The plate circuit comprises the filament 11, resistance 10 with by-pass condenser 13, secondary coil 19, rectifier 18, series exciting winding 6 of the magnet, transformer primary 21, and plate 20. The shunt winding 7, however, is bridged directly across the secondary 19 and rectifier 18, and carries current which is not limited by the valve resistance. The moving coil 2 is excited through the transformer 22.
