Abstract
271,132. Atherstone, R. S. Feb. 11, 1926. Thermionic valve circuits.-In a system for supplying current from the mains to a thermioniu valve or other electric system, a potential divider is combined with means for eliminating current ripple and strays picked up by the mains acting as an aerial. Rejection circuits 22 are provided between the apparatus and one or both of the mains 1, 2, and the apparatus is shunted by a smoothing condenser 21. smoothing condensers 9, 17, 18, being also provided between various parts of the potential divider shown. The filament circuit of the valves comprises, in series, a lamp or other resistance 20, one or more choke coils 8, 16, the valve filament across the terminals 6, 5, and the potentiometer resistance 11 shunted by a lamp 10. A neon lamp, fuse, or other current limiting device 12 is also provided. The circuit to the high tension terminal 3 includes a choke coil 7 wound on the same core as the choke 8 in such a sense that the current fluctuations tend to produce a flux in the same direction through both coils. An intermediate high tension terminal 13 may be connected through a similar choke 15 to a tapping on the potentioemter 11. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 227,189 and 236,702.
