460,453. Fluid-pressure servomotorcontrol systems. NEWTON BROS. (DERBY), Ltd., and BODDY, W. H. July 31, 1935, No. 21703. [Class 135] [Also in Group XXVIII] Apparatus for varying the stroke of a pump in accordance with the discharge pressure comprises a rod m, connected to the strokevarying mechanism, and carrying operating pistons k, k<1>. A valve having piston heads a, b, c controls the connection of the pistons k, k<1> with pressure-liquid supply from the pump discharge pipe q through a passage f, and with exhaust passages d, e. The valve is shown held in the neutral position by means of spring-pressed wedges h, which engage a groove g in the valve. The housing carrying the wedges h is adjustable axially, in order to centre the valve. A spring-pressed plunger o, which is exposed to the discharge pressure, through a pipe p, is connected to the control valve through a lost-motion connection n, and moves the valve in accordance with variations in the discharge pressure.
