458,016. Intaglio printing-machines. DRESDEN - LEIPZIGER SCHNELLPRESSEN-FABRIK AKT.-GES:, Coswig, near Dresden, Germany. May 21, 1936, No. 14390. Convention date, May 22, 1935. [Class 100 (ii)] Inking-apparatus.-In a rotary intaglio printing-machine in which the doctor is carried by the ink duct, the duct is detachably connected to the machine frame so that it can be removed together with the doctor to facilitate exchange of the printing cylinder. The duct 4 is provided with side rails 5 engaging inclined guide grooves in blocks 3 secured to the frame and, when inserted in position is first held by turn buttons 11 turned to engage over lugs 30 on the duct and finally fixed by screws 10. The duct has a filling chamber extension 7 also provided with an emptying port 8 normally closed by a plug 9. The doctor blade holder plates 14, 15 are fixed to members 16 secured to a shaft 17 in bearings 12 detachably secured to the duct and the shaft 17 is reciprocated axially by a crank and connecting-rod which is connected by a disconnectible coupling to a reduced extension of the shaft 17.
