Abstract

454,756. Fuel - admission devices. HOLMSTROM, J. H., Svart÷staden, Sweden. Feb. 6, 1936, No. 3615. [Class 7 (iii)] In a low-compression engine operating with electrical ignition, fuel and compressed air pass through passages in an atomizing body 16 fixed in a valve casing 1 and enter the cylinder through spraying channels 7 in a mechanically-actuated valve 6 which is normally held on its seat 11 by a. spring 8. The fuel is supplied through passages 2, 18 to a channel 17, Fig. 3, in the atomizing body 16 and passes through passages 19, 28 to the space 26 around the valve spindle 5 where it is atomized by compressed air entering at 3 and passing partly through passages 24, 28 and partly through passages 25.
