Abstract

454,040. Fountain pens. HORN, A. S., 60, Osmaston Road, Prenton, Birkenhead. May 24, 1935, No. 15130. [Class 146 (iii)] In a self-filling fountain pen of the kind provided with an air-tube b extending from the feed-bar a into the reservoir and communicating with the ink-feed duct c by means of a lateral passage d, the latter opens at the rear or side of the feed-bar and is connected to the ink-duct by a curved or tortuous channel e formed in the side of the feed-bar. In use, air is expelled from the reservoir through the channels b, d, e, c, and ink is drawn directly into the reservoir through the channel c. The channel e is preferably of the same cross-sectional area as the channel c.
