Void [Abridged as open to inspection tinder Sect. 91 of the Acts, June 11, 1935]. [Class 38 (ii)] In mercury-vapour rectifier installations in which grid control is provided for suppressing the arc under fault conditions, means are provided whereby blocking voltage is applied to the grids during ignition and while the excitation arc is being established. The means comprise a relay n the energizing winding of which is connected in the circuit of the exciter anodes d1, d2 and which is adapted to change over the connection of the grids to a D.C. source k in such manner that a positive voltage is substituted for a blocking voltage when the excitation arc is established.
