447,506. Converting. AKT.-GES. BROWN, BOVERI, & CIE, Baden, Switzerland. Dec. 13, 1934, No. 35792. Convention date, Dec. 30, 1933. [Class 38 (ii)] In a polyphase rectifier in which the anodes 11 ... 16 associated with individual phase windings are equipped with grids 4 capable of extinguishing the arc while the anodes are under positive voltage, a star point anode 18 is provided for conducting current during the period following interruption of current in one main anode and while current is building up in the next. Where a divided secondary is used in conjunction with an interphase transformer 7, Fig. 2, star point anodes 18a, 18b are provided for each star point. Specifications 409,331 and 430,915, [both in Group XL], are referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 states that the invention may be applied to inverters. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
