May 14, 1935, No. 14101. [Class 31 (i)] [See also Group XVI] A tool for producing a number of parallel slits 5, Fig. 4 adjacent the reduced free end 3 of a roll of paper for use in a printing press, comprises a fixed bar 10, Fig. 5, and an upper sliding bar 8 provided with a number of co-operating inclined blades 9, 7, the lower blades having notches 12 against which the paper, after being folded along the line on which the slits are to be made, is placed. The bar 8 is depressed by a hand lever 14 and raised by springs 22 on rods 20 on which the bar 8 is guided. Removable stops 23 limit the stroke of the bar 8 and hence the length of the slits.
