450,302. Coke ovens. GAS CHAMBERS & COKE OVENS, Ltd., and KEMP, A. V., Artillery House, Artillery Row, Westminster. March 20, 1936, No. 8427. Addition to 439,034. [Class 51 (ii)] The coke oven of the parent Specification is modified by providing additional burners for heating the ovens by direct flame. As shown, a gas supply pipe 7a is fitted above each combustion flue 7 and the gas therefrom burns in the heating-flues 13. The oven may thus be used for low, high, or intermediate temperature distillation, according as the burners 9 or 7a, or both are employed. A part of the heating-gases may be recirculated through the ports 20, and a separate exhaust flue 16a is provided for each line of heating-flues 13.
