449,057. Stays. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP IJZERHANDEL I. M. DE VRIES, and VRIES, A. DE, 6, Rokin, Amsterdam. Aug. 21, 1935, No. 23525. [Class 65 (i)] A stay device for doors and similar hinged or pivoted members comprises a stay-bar 7 pivotally secured to a bracket 5 mounted on one member 1 of a pair of hinged members 1, 3, the stay-bar 7 being slidable in a transverse aperture in a tubular pillar 11 mounted to rotate about an axis parallel to the hinge axis 2 in a bearing 12 which is secured to the second member 3 or to a member rigid therewith, the pillar 11 forming a housing for two spring-pressed detents elements each engageable with one of a pair of opposed notches formed in the bar 7. The detent elements are in the form of a pair of spring-urged balls 13 adapted when the member 1 is opened to engage notches 9 which may be formed at the end or spaced along the length of the bar 7.
