[Class 135] A valve comprises a tapered plug of metal, preferably brass, seating on a corresponding socket and controlled by a screwed shaft integral with the plug or connected to it by a T-piece as shown. When used for acids, however, the plug and seating may be of glass. The plug may be threaded or grooved and the socket similarly formed.
