Abstract

353,681. Safety cut - off valves. RADIATION, Ltd., Thimple Mill Lane, Aston, Birmingham, and YATES, H. J., 15, Grosvenor Place, London. July 17, 1930, No. 21647. [Class 135.] A safety cut-off valve opened by hand and maintained open by gas pressure acting on a diaphragm has a lift-valve member f with a ported cylindrical extension k adapted to work in a cylindrical seat with a lateral port e so that in the closed position the valve member is subject to lateral pressure alone. The seat is formed in a member d secured in a hollow boss p in the casing. The hollow extension may be replaced by a solid piston with external grooves. According to the Provisional Specification the lift closure may be dispensed with.
