Abstract
367,929. Flushing-valves. TRESILIAN, A. S., Norvic, Salisbury Avenue, Cheam, Surrey. Dec. 3, 1930, No. 36456. [Class 135.] Valves controlled by pilot or relay valves.-A flushing-valve actuated by fluid pressure under the control of an auxiliary valve has the auxiliary valve actuated by a push-button carrying a biased pivoted pawl adapted to co-operate with the auxiliary valve spindle or a cam projection on a lever associated therewith. In the form shown in the Figure the auxiliary valve 10 seats on the main valve 6 which is connected to a piston 8 provided with a bleed port 14. To open the main valve the auxiliary valve is tilted by a spring-loaded push acting through a pivoted pawl 12 and is maintained in the tilted position by a spring 22 arranged between abutments 17, 18 carried respectively by the valve spindle and a perforated plate on the piston. As the main valve opens a projection on the abutment 18 engages a conical recess in an adjustable plug 19 and restores the auxiliary valve to its closed position thus initiating the closing movement. Passages 15, 20, 21 may be provided to hasten the return movement of the piston. In a modification the auxiliary valve seats on the casing and the pivoted pawl on the return movement of the push engages a cam projection on a lever bearing against the auxiliary valve spindle, to open the auxiliary valve.
