[Class 135] A water tap has a plain cylindrical portion 11. between the tap body 5 and the threaded shank 9 by which it is connected tc the supply pipe and is fittec with a detachable dished shield 21 which is capable of slight rocking movement on the part 11 so that the flat base of the shield may rest truly against the wall or tile on which the tap is mounted. A hexagonal or other polygonal part 12 is also formed on the shank. The shield comprises a flange 13, a flat or slightly conical part 14, and a tapering part 15 which terminates in an aperture 16. The latter may be eccentric to the shield and its edge may be conical to facilitate the rocking movement. The part 15 may be cylindrical. The shield is fixed to the tile or wall by a screw 18.
