[Classes 89 (i) and 89 (ii)] [See also Group XIV] A screw for connecting tubular metal members to adjacent parts has a slotted elongated cheese head d of a length of at least twice the diameter thereof, and with a square shoulder or underface. In use the shoulder bears against the inner wall of the tubular member b to hold it in contact with the adjacent part a while the free end of the head d lies substantially flush with the external surface of the tubular member. The free end of the screw head may be slightly rounded. The screwed shank f may engage a nut g or an internally threaded metal part, or may be of the wood-screw type as shown in Fig. 4.
