444,593. Cap spinning machines. BRITISH CELANESE, Ltd., 22, Hanover Square, London, and TAYLOR, W. I., and WOODRUFF, A. H., c/o British Celanese, Ltd., Spondon, near Derby. Sept. 24, 1934, No. 27355. [Class 120 (ii)] Cowls arranged between the cap spinning- devices of machines comprising adjacent rows of spindles at substantially the same level, as described in Specification 343,965, are traversed in time with the bobbins so as also to function when the bobbins are below the level of the edge of the cap and thus to prevent entanglement when throwing a thread on a bobbin. As shown, yarns 13 proceed from a spinning cabinet 14 for the production of artificial filaments. Cowls formed by a back plate 10 and plates 11, 12 are carried by the traverse rail 6. A bottom plate 22 serves as a belt-guard and depending guards 23 may encase the wharls. Belts 21 serve a number of spindles, a pulley 24 ensuring adequate contact with the wharls. Yarn guides 16, 17 are provided, a long slot 21 being arranged to lead the yarns to the rear row of spindles.
