Abstract

505,678. Drying artificial silk whilst twisting. GEISSLER, W. Dec. 8, 1937, No. 33935. Convention date, Dec. 15, 1936. [Class 120 (ii)] [Also in Group IV] Artificial silk is twisted in a wet condition, after it has been cleared, desulphured, acidified, and oiled upon the bobbin upon which it is wound during production, in a twisting-machine with a wide balloon to effect the drying, whereby irregularities due td shrinkage when drying upon the bobbin are avoided and subsequent dyeing is regular. As shown, the bobbin b from the spinning machine is mounted on a delivery spindle provided with retaining-springs F, and the yarn passes in a balloon to a guide f, roller g. and traverse guide.
