Special yarns, producing; rollers and roller, heads. - In a machine for producing two or more fold yarn by the combination of twisted yarn with roving, such, for example, as described in Specification 14700/88, a twisted yarn Y is drawn from a bobbin Y<1> by a driven roller or rollers R and is united with a roving C at the nip rollers N of the drawing-rollers, or at the pot eye after passing over a roller R<1> in known manner, as shown in broken lines. The latter arrangement is adopted when it is desired to vary the rate of leed of the yarn in relation to that of the roving. The roller R may be mounted eccentrically so as to draw the yarn in a varying manner and thereby to produce fancy yarn. The yarn and hoving may be of the same or different material such as worsted, cotton, silk, or artificial silk, and more than one yarn may be used with one roving.
