Convention date, April 20. [Class 140] Wood-surfaced wall &c. coverings are made by washing out the sap from a felled tree trunk by introducing water at the pressure of the water main, peeling the trunk into a continuous veneer, and backing the veneer with paper or a fabric such as silk. The washed trunk may be fireproofed or dyed prior to peeling. The water and the dye may be introduced through a number of holes arranged in a circle bored into the felled tree trunk intermediate its length, at least some of these holes intercommunicating or overlapping. The backed veneer may be embossed, cut, or stamped.
