Abstract

[Class 74 (ii)] [Also in Group IX] Manilla hemp paper is immersed or coated on one or both sides with a waterproofing substance and cut into strips, which are formed into a sheet by weaving twisting or knitting. The sheet may be used for shoes, book-binding, fancy artificial leather work, sheet making, carriage work, gloves, belts, hats, scarves, wall hangings, facings or trimmings. An impregnation mixture of vinyl acetate, ethyl or butyl alcohol, and methyl alcohol, or of polyvinyl ester-acetal dehyde condensation product, phthalic acid ester of ethylene glycol, and methyl alcohol may be used, or paper may be employed made from pulp containing 2 per cent latex.
