Abstract

443,623. Vehicle-window regulators. ROETHEL, J. H., 269, Marlborough Avenue, Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A. May 16, 1935, No. 14373. Convention date, July 25, 1934. [Class 20 (iii)] A rear'side window for a vehicle comprises a glass panel 14 which is moved rearwardly and swung downwardly in its own plane when opening, to provide a ventilating slot at the forward edge. A panel holding member 35 is provided with guide slots 36 for pins 33, 34 on the ends of arms 28, 29 which rotate with intergeared pinions 22, 24 actuated by a hand crank 30. The gear ratio is such that the arm 29 rotates faster than the arm 28. A fixed pin 42 on the panel-holder 35 engages in a slot 32 in the lever 28, so that on actuation of the hand crank to open the window, the panel is carried rearwardly and downwardly and also tilted so that the upper edge of the panel moves in a path approximately parallel to the roof line of the vehicle body.
