Abstract

436,219. Vehicle-window regulators. BRIGGS MANUFACTURING CO., 11631, Mack Avenue, Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A.- (Assignees of Ball, A. P. ; 3574, McKinley Avenue, Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A.) April 3, 1934, No. 10057. Convention date, Aug. 5, 1933. [Class 20 (iii)] A vertically and horizontally slidable vehicle window is provided with a regulator having associated with one of the two lifting levers 39, 41 a lever 48 and pin 49 thereon adapted to engage a cam-slot 54, 54<a>, to give the horizontal movement when the window is raised. The rear guide is deepened above the sill, as at 30, Fig. 3, to permit the horizontal movement, and below the sill is reduced by a filler strip 31 to allow only the vertical movement. The cam slot may be formed on the lever 48 and a cooperating pin on an extension of the bottom rail of the panel. A three-point support for the panel when in or near the raised position is provided by the studs 40, 42 and a cam extension 52 of the slotted member adapted to engage the stud 49. The arm 48 may be integral with or riveted to the lifting lever 39. Any retaining device combined with the regulator mechanism may act as a holder for the panel in open or closed positions.
