Dec. 4, 1935, No. 33610. Convention date, Jan. 11. [Class 20 (iii)] A vehicle window is adapted to be opened and closed by a vertical sliding movement and when fully raised to receive a combined horizontal and pivotal movement to give a ventilation opening. The panel 24 is slidably pivoted to the regulator mechanism by a pin 31 welded to the bottom sash and engaging a slot in the retainer plate. The ventilating movement is caused by a crank 47 pivoted to the panel and retainer plate and rotated by a cam-slot 72 on one regulator lever which engages in the raised position a bent extension 50 of the crank pivot, Fig. 1. At the upper edge, the panel when raised engages the U-shaped extension 44 of a spring- pressed triangular-shaped pivot 39, or the panel may have a fixed pivot 139, Fig. 11, engaging when raised in a slot in the frame. The retainer plate is guided in felt-lined body channels 75, 77 by extensions 74, 78 secured to it.
