[Class 20 (iii)] A vertically-sliding vehicle window of the kind described in Specification 419,409, which is movable horizontally in its own plane to close or open a front ventilation slot 101 when raised, is characterized by the provision of a deep felt-lined channel guide which it engages throughout its whole range of vertical movement while maintaining the ventilation opening. When raised the window is moved horizontally by a slotted cam lever 48 secured to the regulator lever 41 and a stud 50 on an extension of the bottom rail. A cam surface 52 on the lever 48 and the stud 50 give a third point of support to the window and prevent its horizontal movement in intermediate positions. The front guide has a flanged base support 15, Fig. 2, and in the well has wood and rubber packing in the base. In a modification, the cam slot for the horizontal movement is provided on a plate attached to the bottom rail and the co-operating stud on an arm of the regulator lever. The downward movement is limited by a stud 60 on the arm 48 adapted to engage the bevelled edge 34<a> on the slotted member 34.
