Abstract
444,279. Vehicle windows. ROETHEL, J. H., 269, Marlborough Avenue, Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A. May 17, 1935, No. 14490. Convention date, Dec. 31, 1934. [Class 20 (iii)] A rear side window for a stream-lined vehicle is opened along a rearwardly inclined line so that the upper edge of the glass panel 14 remains substantially parallel to the roof line 15. The glass panel is held in a channel member 27 carried by a plate attached by screws 32 to the flange of a plate 29 having slots 30, 31 to receive fixed guide pins 25, 26 mounted on a plate 20 secured by screws 21 to the vehicle body. The plate 29 has teeth 40 on a curved line at its forward edge, these teeth meshing with a pinion 22 on the spindle of the actuating crank. Spring-pressed washers on the guide pins 25, 26 hold the plates 29, 20 in slidable engagement and anti-rattle washers may be provided. Specification 443,623 is referred to.
