Convention date, Nov. 16, 1933. Addition to 417,119. [Class 34 (i)] [See also Group XXVI] In a modification of the steam-admission apparatus for drying-cylinders of paper-making machines and similar appliances claimed in the parent Specification, a tube E for withdrawal of condensate extends through the steam inflow casing C into a discharge casing G, and packing rings B, D, H, each with one plane and one curved surface, are interposed respectively, between the trunnion A and the casing C, between the casing C and a flange e<1> on the tube E and between a second flange e<2> on the tube E and the outflow casing G. The flange e<2> is embraced by a stirrup f<2> the top of which is provided with a roller f <3> movable horizontally in a guide f<4>. The flange and thus the tube E can be rotated to a limited extent by means of a lever e<3> secured to the flange. The tube E towards its inner end is journalled in a stirrup a<3> secured to the trunnion A, a packing ring J being interposed between the stirrup and a spring-pressed bush e<8>.
