Abstract
685,009. Drying-cylinders of paper-making machines. VOITH GES., J. M. Oct. 24, 1950. [Oct. 31, 1949] No. 25906/50. Class 96. [Also in Group XIII] To enable a drying-cylinder 8 for paper to withstand higher steam pressures, the journals 2, 3 have enlarged flanges 4 welded to a tubular part 9 of approximately the same diameter and carrying the end-plates 6, 7 of the cylinder. Steam is fed in by a pipe 11 and flows through an aperture 10 in the part 9. Condensate is collected by scoops 12, 13 which feed it behind a wall 14 whence it is drained through the journal 3.
