436,605. Heating water by electricity. WILLIAMS, S. A., Vine Lodge, Osterley, Middlesex, and ALLEN, F. J. C., The Gadget, Oatlands Drive, Weybridge, Surrey. June 15, 1934, No. 17793. [Class 39 (iii)] In water heaters with electric heating elements carried by a float, the float 12 is of annular form and the electrodes 14 or resistance elements are placed in the central space of the float. The boiler has a water inlet 6, a steam outlet 8 and a gauge glass 4. The electrodes 14 are connected to a supply cable 16 and are supported on a cylinder 18 which is slotted at 20 so as to be vertically adjustable within the float by bolts 22. The slots also admit water within the cylinder. The electrodes are always above the bottom of the float, which has a diameter a little less than that of the boiler and may be weighted for vertical adjustment.
