[Class 55 (ii)] [Also in Group XI] A humidifier comprises a heating resistance 5 housed in contact with a tube 4 which fits closely within a tubular wick 3 dipping into water in a vessel 1. The resistance unit is secured by a rod 11 and nut 12 in a casing 13 mounted on the vessel 1 and open at its extremities at 14, 15. A number of vessels may be connected to a supply tank, and the humidifier may be associated with a fan or a hygroscope controlling, by a rheostat, the intensity of the current. The resistance comprises windings separated by sheets of mica 8 between cork washers 9.
