Air, humidifying.-Apparatus in which air is humidified comprises an adjustably-mounted water-tank a connected with a vaporization chamber l in which water is raised to boiling temperature by means of an electric heater. The heater comprises carbon electrodes o mounted on an insulated shaft p and connected by metal plates s and by wires t, u to terminals v. Steam injected into the chamber z mixes with air sucked into the passage z<1> by means of a fan 3, and the mixture is blown by the fan into the premises in which air is to be humidified. Condensed water returns to the tank through a pipe z<2>. Regulation of humidity is effected by regulating the electric current and varying the height of the water in the reservoir l by regulating the position of the tank or a float b.
