[Class 7 (ii)] [See also Group XXVIII] A catalytic exhaust filter is provided with an ante-chamber A for the interchange of heat between the outgoing gases in an outer chamber H and the incoming gases in the ante-chamber and for damping out the pressure waves before the gases enter the filtering medium K. The ante-chamber A has a corrugated surface G to provide a greater heat interchanging area.
