Abstract

436,906. Treating exhaust gases. DEGEA AKT.-GES. AUERGES., 16, Rotherstrasse, Berlin.-(Assignees of Deutsche Gasgl³hlicht - Auer - Ges. ; 16, Rotherstrasse, Berlin) June 7, 1934, No. 16941. Convention date, June 22, 1933. [Class 7 (ii)] Exhaust gases are purified by contact with a catalyst comprising a platinum group metal or its oxide applied by impregnation to a dried gel of large surface area, composed of one or more oxides of metals of groups 2, 3 and 4. An example is palladium or silica gel with or without zirconium oxide. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91, other compounds of the said metals may also be used as carriers, and the carriers are not necessarily in the form of gel. Examples are corundum, flint, asbestos, marble, and magnesia. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
