Abstract
387,006. Gas-filters. WILKINSON, A., The Terrace, Beighton, and ELLIS, A. T., Lynwood, Chesterfield Road, Swallownest, both near Sheffield. July 29, 1931, No. 21690. [Class 8 (ii).] Fig. 1 shows a filter comprising an annular bed retained between perforated plates 11 and a conical plate 9 perforated near the inlet for passage of gas and bent over to form a casing 7. The conical plate is held by the outer casing top, packing 22 providing a gas seal. Impurities are deposited in the conical well and the gas is further purified by the annular filter and a secondary filter 14. Fig. 6 shows an inverted filter in which the depositing chamber 25 is formed between a conical inlet extension 27 and the annular filter which is bounded by a rounded perforated plate.
