[Class 46.] In a filter comprising blocks H of paper pulp or similar material with internal draining gauze I and separating plates P, the blocks and plates are mounted on a central outlet tube O which has apertures O<1> and is closed at the upper end by a nut R which serves to hold the blocks in position and to spread the liquid to be filtered as it enters the casing centrally from above. Sheets M<1>, K<1>, of ebonite are provided on the cover M and baseplate K of the casing which is held together by bolts N. Specification 22256/02, [Class 46, Filtering &c.], is referred to in the Provisional Specification.
