Abstract

264,104. Carbines, F. O. Oct. 2, 1926. Filters having sheet filtering - materials. - A milk filter comprises superposed sections B, C with filter elements K held between the joints, the lower section B having an inlet H for the milk to be filtered and the top section C an outlet D for the filtrate. The section B is formed with a sump F and drainage outlet G and may be fitted with a gauze strainer J. Each filter element consists of a cloth K drawn over a ring M and clamped by a ring N. The edges of the walls of the sections are formed with recessed flanges to receive rubber rings P, which in addition to forming liquid tight joints serve to hold the rings N against ledges O on which the filter elements are supported. The sections are held together by tie rods R extending upward from a base A and threaded to receive nuts R<1> which engage lugs on a domed cover E.
