Filters having sheet filtering-materials.-A gauze element 2, extending through the wall or into the sump of a liquid fuel tank, is carried by a cap 3 which is screwed into position and clamps between a flange 9 and the tank, a ring 6 carrying one or more outlet taps 7. A groove is formed in the ring 6, or in the corresponding portion of the cap or in both and the cap has perforations 12, the filtered liquid reaching the taps 7 by way of the perforations and groove. The element can be removed without disturbance of the taps.
