[Class 46.] A filter for taps or valves has as filtering medium a cut-weft pile fabric, such as velveteen, velvet or cord with the pile fast bound, the fabric being made up in the form of a bag with the pile on the inside of the bag. A bag a may have its open end attached to a ring a<2> held in a recess at the upper end of a casing b, by a flange on a rubber connection d, the casing and connection being held together by a screwed ring c. The upper end of the connection d is placed over the tap outlet, means such as a metal clip being provided for holding it thereon.
