Abstract

In filtering-apparatus in which the liquid flows upward through a filtering element, the casing is provided with a detachable sump to receive the intercepted matter, a valve for controlling the passage from the filter chamber to the sump and means carried by and adjustable relatively to the sump for opening or closing the valve. The apparatus may be as described in Specification 463,703.
