Abstract
502,746. Pipe joints. SCHEIDT, W. H. Sept. 24, 1937, No. 26006. Convention date, Sept. 26, 1936. [Class 99 (i)] [Also in Group I] In order to make a fluid - tight joint between a pipe 8, which supports a bag filter and collects filtrate therein, and a discharge pipe 4, passing through the wall 2 of the filter container, these pipes are of such diameter that the end of one can be inserted in the other and a resilient ring 7 is placed in a recess in the outer pipe and compressed by an annular projection 12 on a member 11, which is secured on to the outer pipe or has claws 10 which engage inclined surfaces 9 on the outer pipe. The pipes 4 and 8 may be of non- corrosive material such as vulcanite or artificial resin and the ring 7 may be of soft rubber with surfaces of hard rubber.
