Abstract
436,152. Prepayment gas meters. GLOVER & CO., Ltd., G., and CLARK, W. S., Royal Avenue, Chelsea, London. April 5, 1934, No. 10312. [Class 27] A valve for a prepayment gas meter comprises a disc a co-operating with an annular seating b inside a valve-box c the disc a being movable along a guide rod g by a stirrup lever f which engages a groove e in an extension d from the disc. The arm f is on a spindle l passing through a stuffing-box m and operable by an outside lever arm n. An axial hole in the disc receives one end of the fixed guide rod g, the other side of the disc being provided with a hollow boss p having a closed end. The rod g is carried by a screwed cap or plug i which closes an aperture through which the valve may be withdrawn for inspection, repairs, &c. The rod g is fluted longitudinally and the disc a is prevented from rotating thereon by a pin on the disc engaging one of the grooves k.
