433,264. Models. AIRD, H., 1326, Burrard Street, Vancouver, Canada. Feb. 12, 1935, No. 4527. [Class 146 (ii)] A device for demonstrating the operation of an internalcombustion engine comprises a sectional cylinder B with inlet and exhaust ports 10, 11 controlled by valves 12, 13, a reciprocable piston, and illuminating devices 14,15,16 in the cylinder and ports which are illuminated in timed relation with the movements of the piston and valves. The valves are actuated by cams 33, 34 driven from a shaft 20 which carries a crank 21 connected by a rod 24 to the piston, and which is rotated from an electric motor C. The illuminating device 15 is white, the device 16 is red, and the device 14 alternately white and red, and they are under the control of a commutator driven from the shaft 20.
