Abstract

429,945. Stuffing- boxes. TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L. M. ERICSSON, 33, Kungsgatan, Stockholm. Dec. 9, 1933, No. 34729. Convention date, Jan. 3. [Class 122 (v)] [See also Group XXXVI] Packing 24 between an insulator 1 and electric cable 13 is compressed by springs 29. The latter may be carried by pins 27 secured to a gland ring 26 and passing through a cover member 30 with which they may be removed as a unit. The packing 24 comprises a metal sheathed rubber ring mounted between iron rings 23 abutting a brass ring 22 which seats on a ring 21 of the material known under the Registered Trade Mark " Klingerit." In a modification the bolts are screwed into the metal casing 2 and springs mounted thereon between the boltheads and a gland member. The bared end of the cable projects into a deformable sheath 5-bolted to the terminal 14 and formed with a flange 3 held in contact with a packing 6 by a spring 8.
