A connector for tapping off a cable 11 from a ring main 10 comprises an insulating block 12 having on one side recesses which receive the bared cores of the main 10 and on the other side and normal to the first-named, recesses for the bared cores of the cable 11, and the limbs of an L-shaped connector 13 lie along the bottoms of the corresponding recesses on each side of the block and contact the bared cores. Clamps 15 screwed to the blockform covers to shroud the cores and have ribs 15a to force them into contact with the connectors.
