Abstract

580,775. Strain-taking devices for flexible leads. TURNOCK, Ltd., G., JACKSON, E. D., and TAYLOR, W. E. June 12, 1944, No. 11187. [Class 38 (i)] A three-pin plug connector comprises a base 21 and cover 10, both of rubber or mouldable synthetic material, and a yielding rubber sleeve 12 adapted to grip the incoming lead at 29 when it is compressed within the curved inside surface of the cover by the tightening of the clamping screws 16. The plug-pin, one of which is an earth connection, are fixed in the base 21 with their terminals (not shown) in recesses therein. The base has a radially grooved dome 22 and cut-away parts adjacent the terminals, so as to accommodate the separate connections to the terminals, and allow insertion of the leads therein from the side. The sleeve 13 is gapped at 31, 32 to clear the screws 16, and terminals respectively.
