429,446. Pipe joints. LAMONT, J. H., 5, Meadowplace Road, and LAMONT & CO., Ltd., J. H., Gylemuir Works, both in Corstorphine, Edinburgh. Dec. 1, 1933, No. 33734. [Class 99 (i)] A coupling member 6 has a truncated conical recess 9 into which the unsplit end of the pipe 4 is expanded without heating or coating the pipe or fitting with jointing material. The recess is formed by enlarging the bore of the fitting from the cylindrical part 21 to an extent such that the bore of the expanded pipe end is flush with the bore of the fitting at 10.
