[Class 69 (iii)] [See also Group XXI] A nozzle for discharging a gaseous liquid or solid fire-extinguishing medium in the form of a conical sheet, comprises a discharge orifice and a flared deflector. The latter may be fixed or may be adjustable to allow the apex angle of the sheet to be varied. The nozzle is carried by a portable frame whereby it scan be positioned above a fire zone. The deflector 13, Fig. 4, may be slidable upon a yoke 28 so that it can close under gravity, open under the pressure of the medium, or be swung aside to free the mouth 10 of the nozzle ; or it may be carried by a pivoted arm.
