426,190. Pistons. WELLWORTHY, Ltd., and HOWLETT, J. W., Stanford Road, Lymington, Hampshire. Nov. 9, 1934, No. 32273. [Class 122 (i)] In a piston of the kind in which the thrust faces of the skirt are connected by webs 18 to the gudgeon pin bosses, the skirt being otherwise isolated from the bosses and head, more than two webs 15 are provided on the head parallel to the axis of the bosses. Two of these webs may extend on either side of the bosses to interconnect the webs 18. Further and narrower parallel webs 16 may be provided between webs 15. Webs 18 may extend below the bosses and be connected thereto by webs 21. Slots 25 may be provided in the skirt below and/or between the bosses and may extend throughout the whole or part of the length of the skirt. Specification 366,625 is referred to.
