[Class 122 (i).] Strengthening elements disposed between each gudgeon pin boss and the piston head each comprise one or more radial webs c integral with the piston wall and intersecting a web e integral solely with the head and boss. The webs e may be curved, or connected to form a ring connecting the head and bosses. Radial webs f may project from the underside of the head and cooling webs may be provided between the lower side of the bosses and the skirt.
